History

McLees Elementary is a public, rural elementary school housing kindergarten through fifth grade.  The school opened in August of 2003.  When attendance zones were drawn in 2002 for our new school, our children were pulled from the New Prospect Elementary and Varennes Elementary attendance areas.  We are very proud of our state-of-the-art facility which includes a communication system, a security system, a theater, spacious classrooms, tutoring rooms, a well-equipped science lab, ample storage, and a media center with a conference room, a work room, a studio, and a leveled text library.

The staff includes 3 administrators, 46 certified faculty members, and 15 people on the support staff.  Fifty-four percent of the certified staff has advanced degrees.  The administration consists of a principal and two assistant principal.  We also have an Reading Coach.
