"Friendship"
What's special about a friend of yours?  Write and tell them.

Our school will be involved in several community and service learning projects during this month.

Helpful Hands for Haiti
We are collecting silver coins to fill classroom cups to help those whose lives were devastated.  All donations will be sent to our local Red Cross.  The winning class will receive an ice cream party!
Our school raised $1,165.56

Showing Love to Animals

Our school will be collecting food, blankets, and other pet products to donate to Anderson's Animal Shelter.  These items will be delivered to the shelter by our student coucil representatives on Feb. 26th.

Be My Valentine!
Our students will be decorating and writing Valentines to help cheer up children in our AnMed facilities and the Greenville Shriner's Hospital.

Send your child a special Valentine!  Surprise your child by writing a Valentine letter or note, place it in an envelope labeled with their name and teacher's name and return it to school.  These will be delivered through our school post office on Valentine's Day.  Letters will also be displayed in the hallways.

Have a Heart

Order a heart-shaped cake for $6.50 from Super BiLo.  The school will earn a percentage of the proceeds.  Send in your order by February 5th.  Make checks payable to McLees Elementary School.  All orders are non-refundable.  If your child is a bus rider, cakes WILL NOT be sent home on the buses.  These cakes must be picked up at the school on Friday, February 12th between 8:00am and 3:00pm.

We would love to feature parent quotes in this section of our web page.
Send your questions and comments to sheririchey@anderson5.net
Be sure to check back to see if your comments were posted.  We appreciate your input.

"As a grandmother of a Kindergartner, I'm always thrilled when I see a picture of Tabor in action while at school!  Since I live in Georgia, I feel connected to him and his educational activities --even though I live in a neighboring state.  I also go to Mrs. Patterson's webpage to find educational websites for Tabor to access when he's visiting me -- now that's fun for both of us!  Thanks, again, for this great webpage!" -  Ruthie McGaughey

Don't forget to send in those boxtops!
