All About Me

My name is Janet Mills, and I am the principal of McLees Elementary School. I am part of a wonderful administrative team that works very hard to help ensure that our students receive a quality education. I am very proud of our McLees staff. We have such wonderful staff members, parents, students, and community members!  We have accomplished so much, and our students have learned many exciting things!

I have been in education for 25 years. I have taught first through sixth grades. I have also worked as an instructional specialist, assistant principal, and interim principal. All of my experience has been at the elementary level. I worked in Florence districts two and three before moving to Anderson seventeen years ago. I am married to Rick Mills, and we have a beautiful daughter named Khyler and a beautiful  son  named Kole. I love the outdoors and especially the beach.

I look forward to each day at McLees as we strive to deliver quality education to our children. Please remember our doors are always open to visitors. I am sure McLees will have many more successful years in the future!

   Welcome to November! We have many exciting activities planned for this month.  Please check with your child every day for memos and flyers that will be coming home listing important dates and activities.  Second graders   will be taking the ITBS/CogAT tests on November 4,5,6,10,and 11.  We will have pictures with Santa on November 12th.  Awards' Day is November 13.  We will be celebrating American Education Week during the week of November 16-20. Grandparents' lunch will be November 17, 18, and 19. School will be closed from November 25-27 for Thanksgiving holidays.  Have a great break and spend some quality time with family and friends. Happy November!!! December is right round the corner:)
